Advent Scarf instalment 2
Well Advent is speeding by and my scarf seems to have "stopped", I was a few days behind from the beginning and now I am at least a week. Got an order for a scarf that is needed for Christmas so my own project gets put on hold! I download the daily instructions and will finish it even if it's for the new year, it would have been so nice to wear the new red scarf.

Advent Calendar Scarf
As if I had nothing else to do this Advent in my Christmas preparations!! Found this amazing link on Ravelry last week and while I am a few days behind thought I would try this Advent Calendar Scarf. Each day a new section of the pattern is revealed and by Christmas the scarf is complete, like kids opening the doors of the Advent Calander to see what chocolate they will find today. Have made a few errors but that is part of the course. Will post some progress pics in a day or so.

Chunky yarn projects for those special gifts.
The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer, and the temperatures are falling, so what could be a better time to check out what what is in your stash? With Halloween right around the corner, we're also fast approaching those December holidays and need great gift ideas for everyone on our list. So what better way is there then to make those wonderful handmade gifts? You'll be amazed by how much progress you can make with a chunky project just riding in your carpool to work, taking time on your lunch break and even while you're watching the evening news. Happy knitting.

October coming to an end.
It was very crisp this morning as I walked to work, will have to check the hat and glove basket this evening for my gloves. Not cold enough for the warm. warm ones but those skinny little ones that will keep the fingers from freezing. My jacket sleeves are long enough to act as warmers when I have nothing else, a poor excuse for one who does so much knitting.
Keeping very busy with my items for the Fine Craft and Design Show Nov. 11 to 14 and Nov 18 to 21 at the Arts & Culture Centre in St. John's. Hope to have tons of cup cozies for those Christmas gifts to the person who has everything. You just add a gift card to their favourite coffee or tea store and the gift is done, how easy is that?
Well my knitting awaits so I will get back to it.

Igor!
Well it's been a week! The anticipation of my birthday and a visit from my sister, brother and sister-in-law and then the unwanted arrival of Igor! September 21st will never have the same meaning again. Through it all Sue and I knit and created coffee cup cozies, cowls and hats, I think the knitting as always kept us calm and gave us something to do when we felt so helpless. Thank you Harold and Sue for being here with me and sorry Jean didn't make it, there will be other birthdays for us to be together.

Yoga Socks
My granddaughter was recently visiting and brought the pattern and wool for me to knit her a pair of yoga socks. One way not to have to turn the heel!!
It's been another interesting week at work, our new display is nearly finished and then we will be able to open to the public, can'[t wait to hear the comments.
It's a beautiful day for the end of August, great berry picking weather if one wasn't working.

Another Week
The time is flying by so fast. A very quick trip to Corner Brook for the wedding of two wonderful friends. Home again and now have my granddaughter visiting for two weeks or so. Busy week ahead with Trinity Festival and THS auction. Will fit some time in to knit along the way. Erika wants yoga socks knit before she goes home on the 27th. A mini sock wars type of effort!!

A foggy Wednesday
It is so foggy right now and it might be raining, it's so dark I have to turn the lights on to see what I am knitting. Just a simple scarf today, what I call my mindless knitting project. Only thing you have to do is remember to change the colour after so many rows and remember to change on the same side to keep one side good!!!

Fairisle Knitting Techniques
Looking forward to tomorrow with Shirley Scott. We are doing a workshop at the Hiscock House Provincial Historic Site on Fairisle Knitting Techniques, should be a fun day, any day with Shirl is a fun day.
Going to try some new colour combinations for my Diamond Striped hat later. Will post a pic when it's complete.
Sun is shining and there is a little breeze, a "large" kind of summer day.

It's been too long
I should be studying for an exam I have to write on Thursday night for my Tourism Supervisor Certification but my excuse is I'm taking a break! I can't believe I have not made a post since last October, so much has happened, I won't begin to tell you.
I continue to knit, fill my orders and create new and wonderful colour ways for my hats. I have been doing a Diamond Striped Hat with marino wool and the colour combinations are too many to share. I also did a hat with two greens and wine for the Cupids 400 celebrations.
