My shawl met it's demise last night!!!!!
I made "a" mistake and got half way across what should have been a purl row doing a pattern, wondering why there were not enough stitches!!! Started to take it back lost a few and in frustration pulled the needles and unravelled all of it. I am now starting with 7 stitches again.
I started this knitted lace last week at a workshop we did with Shirl the Purl (Shirley Scott). Not my usual knitting because it is so fine and you have to watch the graft so closely but I was advancing even with a few mistakes along the way. My fellow participants in the workshop and moving forward with their pieces as well. I can't believe I was up to about 150 stitches or more and now it's back to the start and seven (7) stitches!!

Where else will we find you knitting?
It's been a while, but I've been busy. I had company in August which was very nice, Karen and Erika visited.
Been knitting and trying some new patterns. One with three colours and two eyelet bands has proven to be very popular.
For my birthday I went ot Vegas with Karen and two other friends, that was wonderful and of course I knit while playing the slots, must have brought me luck.
I am now participating in "Hat Wars", my hat has been sent to MI and I am waiting to see my target list her death!! I will post a picture of the hat next time.

Well summer is slipping by, someone told me that last Wednesday was the middle of summer, it all down hill from here!!
Karen and Erika will be here on Tuesday, I am so looking forward to that. Hope the weather stays nice for them and they can get some hiking and outdoor things in.
Trinity Festival next weekend, that will be so much fun. Beer & Cracker contest Saturday evening at Rocky's, oh the mess I will be in when that's over from all those folks blowing crackers in my ears while they try and whistle, I know only in Trinity would you find such a weird contest.
Knitting continues, doing "Jelly Bean Row" hats ans mitts for Jennifer's of Nova Scotia order for the fall. Also using up a few odd balls of yard on hats, mitts and scarves, it's really only an excuse to buy more yarn when I see something that I like. You use one ball and buy two, that's how the "stash" grows, right folks???
It's another beautiful day, I was outside knitting, surprise, but came in for a little break. Just had "fresh" cod fried for my lunch, it was soooooooo good.
Well my knitting awaits so I will be off for now.

July is passing by too quickly.
Can it be nearly a month since I wrote anything, how times flies and I can't even say when you are having fun. Work and knitting and just a little relaxation. Have finished knitting Salt & Pepper Caps for an order and while trying to get the second order ready to mail ended up selling one so now I am knitting a replacement. As Suzanne said, "you sold it you knit it"!! As you can probably tell neither of us likes knitting them. I can't say I dislike knitting them I don't like sewing on the bibs and buttons, if I had a putter togetherer I would knit them!!
Weather has been really nice this last little while even though we had much needed rain on the weekend. I'm off today and it is glorious, will sit in the sun shortly, knit and have a glass of vino, life is rough!!!

Newfoundland Republic Beanie
This is my latest creation. The Pink for England, White for Scotland and the Green for Ireland.
The tricolor was the subject of a poem and a song composed by Michael Francis Howley in 1903:
The pink, the rose of England shows,
The green St. Patrick's emblem, bright
While in between, the spotless sheen
of Andrew's Cross, displays the white.
This is just the beginning of the poem.
Another beautiful evening.
Another beautiful evening. Started this earlier but for some reason I lost the post I was working on. Now while I have a few moments I will try again. Getting ready to go to the Lion's BBQ and "Mopup Party". You ask waht a Mopup Party is, cleaning out the fridge of beer and the liquor cabinet of booze, makes sense to us.
Last weekend we did World Wide Knit in Public Days. After we finished at the Hiscock House Shirley (Shirl the Purl) and I moved ourselves to Rocky's and knit, I think that's a first.
Since last weekend I have been working on a new style beanie using the colours of the Newfoundland Republic flag, pink, wite and green. It's turned out very nice, I think.

Time is slipping by!
Summer will soon be officially here and then a blink and it will be over, time has a way of slipping away from us.
Finally finished the knitting and got the parcel off to Jennifer's of Nova Scotia this morning, what a relief.
Now 12 more Icelandic Beanies to finish and embroider and the next package will be complete. the just one more order before I start to do the fall orders and complete the Historic Sites order. World Wide Knit in Public Weekend this weekend, looking forward to that. Will have some pictures next week to post.
Happy knitting.

Met my demise at Sock Wars
Met my demise at Sock Wars this week. When I got my mail on Tuesday I received my socks from "Mitten Girl" and thus ended my time at Sock Wars, it was fun while it lasted. Got a beautiful pair of socks.
Working away at the Jellybean Row mittens, one pair left to finish. I will be so glad to get this order finished and out the door.
Have some gardening to do as well, maybe if the black flies are not to bad I'll do it after work.
also got the product back from Abbyshot that they used in the fashion show at the Manufactured Right Here Show, they said the accessory items went well with the other clothing.

Heading home today.
Heading home today after a wonderful visit with Chris and family. Weather has been great the last two days after the rain of the earlier two. Went to Visit Victoria, Adam and Dawson yesterday and saw their home, it's small but comfortable and the new addition that Adam is adding will certainly make a difference. Don't know when i will see them again, it makes me sad. It will be a long day with my flight not getting to St. John's until midnight and then a longer time to the wait for the bus at 7:30 AM, oh well it is worth it to see the family. Will have to get my second pair of mitts finished and another pair started for the flight.

Wonderful to see Victoria and Christopher as well. Chris, Christopher and I went to the farmer's market in Fredericton this monrning, I bought a bird house made from an army boot, so cute.

One slipper left to knit and the second sock started. After looking at the Sock Wars board this morning "kills" are starting to happen fast and furious. I would like to have my pair ready for Monday's mail, is it possible??

I have one of the socks finished for "Sock Wars" but now I need to knit some slippers and hats to finish orders and get them out the door. The choices knitters have to make.

Saturday, May 16th
Where does the time go? Can't believe it's been so long since I checked in. Sites open in Trinity this weekend. It's unbelievable weather for "May 24th" even though it's only the 16th, go figure with government holiday system.
I downloaded the pattern from Sock Wars this morning so I could start knitting my weapon. I decided to do "Air Raid" as my pattern choice. Knitting them with Kroy wool.

Where does the time go?
Where does the time go? Another week has slipped by my fingers and still not much accomplished. Product has to be tagged this week, no product sent to stores no money for "Ewe", not good.
Back to work this morning, Sheila will be starting today, wonder who else may get hired this week?
Used some of my yarn I purchased at the Seconds Sale for a scarf in progress this weekend, that was about it for the knitting except for crocheting a few strings n some already finished hats.

Still no knitting!
Two more days have passed and still I have not knit, it's depressing. Will I be able to take out my needles on the long ride home today (3 hours). Hope the taxi is not full and I will have room to knit and purl!!

Having withdrawals!
Can you believe it's been three days and I have not picked up my knitting?. On Friday I was feeling very proud of myself. I brought a large bag of yarn to the Craft Council/Anna Templeton Centre for the seconds sale. Unfortunately I undid all that by going to the seconds sale and buying lots of neat yarn that others I am sure also felt proud to have removed from their cupboard or stash. What I will knit with my new found yarn has not been determined. Some of it is baby yard that must be 30 or 40 years old from the labels, Patons, made in England, in it's original box, what a find, wish the cover was with it. I also bought a Granny Square afghan crocheted and needing finishing, bright blocks trimmed with black, a project for the Hiscock House maybe?
I have walked and walked in this beautiful city over the last three days, ran in to some dear friends that I haven't seen in ages and saw the first dandelions of the season, they will be cold tomorrow because the temperature will be much colder the the 14+ of the last three days.

Saturday again!
The sun continues to shine, you have to love that. I am listening to Yarn Craft a radio-style show for knitters and crocheters from Lion Brand. It's great. They are talking about Earth Day projects.
Today I am going to start on my "taxes" only two weeks and they have to be submitted. When they are done I am going to sort my things for this year to date, no more procrastination, it will be so much easier for next year.
Have the "crew" coming for supper this evening, can't wait. It's been so long since we have all been together.
In all of this when will I knit, must be something on television today that I can take a break and sit for 30+ minutes.
Must run, start the process.

The sun is shining!!!
The sun is finally shining, but still cool, it was -10 this morning, too cold for mid April. We are never satisfied, are we?
Finished a Jelly Bean Row Hat last night, but the other stuff didn't get touched, the weekend is coming I will try my best to get at it.
Looking forward to supper on Saturday with the crew, we haven't all been together for almost a year, too long dear friends.
The morning in Brattleboro when I window shopped at "Knit or Dye" because I didn't think I was going to get in to buy anything.

Will it ever get any warmer!
Another cold April morning, I noticed yesterday that my tulips are coming through the ground, poor things. They might benefit from some small Ewe Design hats! Pretty spring colours, if only I had time to knit them some. Product to price, orders to get out, so much to do so little time. It never seems to change. Come on girl a little less procrastination and a little more work would get you there. Must get ready for work. Have that beautiful wool that I got in Brattleboro at "Knit or Dye" that I want to try, first I have to get my orders ready.

Procrastinating!
I fully intended to write every day as I travelled but long days and full schedules made it more difficult then I thought. I will have many pics to add when I get them together. I bought some wonderful wool in Brattlebore at "Knit or Dye", now I have to figure out what to knit with it. I finished Ayelet's beanie and sent it in the mail yesterday, it was a very soft wool, so pretty. Today I am knitting ear flap hats to fill an order, or well that has to be done as well.

Knitting in Halifax airport
Our flight to Boston has been cancelled and we are waiting for our re-scheduled flight this afternoon. Disappointing we will miss our first day of activities but we will pick up with the others in Concord NH tomorrow morning. Keep watching for the next update. I will continue to knit.

A foggy Saturday
It's been a few days but they have been interesting. I was attending a workshop at the Anna Templeton Centre for Art, Craft and Design. We were dying fabric and WOOL, or the beautiful colours I have created. So much wool to now use in my "Jelly Bean Row" hats. I have only now to find time to knit. Busy few days coming up but more about that later. I must get on with my day, so much to do, so little time!!!
